Arthemus Ward "Art" Acord foi un actor cinematográficu y campeón de rodeo d'Estaos Xuníos, activu na dómina del cine mudu.
Carrera Nacíu nel senu d'una familia de fe mormona de Glenwood (Utah), siendo moza Acord trabayó como cowboy. En 1912 ganó'l campeonatu de valtamientu de novillos, repitiendo como campeón en 1916, ganando al so amigu Hoot Gibson.
El so remangu nel rodeo habíase consiguíu trabayando mientres un tiempu pal show itinerante del Ranchu Miller Brothers 101. Foi col 101 que fizo amistá con Tom Mix, Bee Ho Gray, Broncho Billy Anderson y Hoot Gibson, toos cowboys na pantalla, llegando él mesmu a ser una de les primeres verdaderes estrelles del cine western. Nesti mediu Acord non solo actuó, sinón que tamién escribió guiones y trabayó como especialista. En total fixo más de 100 curtios, considerándose cuasi toos ellos como perdíos.
Acord apuntar nel Exércitu de los Estaos Xuníos mientres la Primer Guerra Mundial, sirviendo en ultramar. Foi compensáu cola Croix de Guerre pol so valor. A la fin de la guerra volvió al cine, actuando nuna serie de populares curtios y como "Buck Parvin", el personaxe del títulu d'un serial cinematográficu d'Universal Pictures.
Debíos a los sos problemes cola bebida y a la so incapacidá p'afaese a la llegada del cine sonoru, la carrera cinematográfica de Acord remató, y él acabó trabayando n'espectáculos itinerantes y en mines en Méxicu.
Fallecimientu Art Acord finó en Chihuahua, Méxicu, a los 40 años d'edá, el 4 de xineru de 1931 por causa d'una Intoxicación cianhídrica y d'entueyos d'una hepatitis. En Méxicu la so muerte foi considerada un suicidiu, anque delles amistaes de Acord aportunaron que fuera asesináu por un políticu mexicanu que sorprendiera a Acord calteniendo una aventura cola so esposa.
Foi enterráu nel Campusantu Forest Lawn Memorial Park de Glendale (California).
Pola so contribución a la industria cinematográfica, Acord recibió una estrella nel Paséu de la Fama de Hollywood, nel 1709 de Vini Street.
