Nalo Hopkinson ye una escritora canadiana adscrita a los xéneros de la ciencia ficción y fantasía que combina les tradiciones orales del Caribe y l'arte narrativo escritu.
Recibió diverses reconocencies, ente ellos el premiu Locus a la meyor ópera prima por Brown Girl in the Ring y el premiu Mundial de Fantasía a la meyor coleición d'hestories con Skin Folk en 2002, ente que recibió una nominación al premiu Hugo en 2001 por Midnight Robber (2000) y al premiu Nébula pol mesmu llibru, cuestión que repitiría en 2007 por The New Moon's Arms.
