Alan MacQuarrie estime que ce souverain serait un représentant le la dynastie des rois de Strathclyde, frère de Run et fils cadet d'Artghal Alan MacQuarrie "The Kings of Strathclyde", in A. Grant & K.Stringer (eds.) Medieval Scotland: Crown, Lordship and Community, Essays Presented to G.W.S.

The Welsh Identity of the Kingdom of Strathclyde", in The Innes Review, Vol. 55, no. 2 (Autumn, 2004), 135..

The Men of the North. The Britons of southern Scotland John Donald Edinburgh 2010, 169-170..
