University of Michigan Press, 1942, référence en ligne).

Son article The Sunnah Jami'ah, pacts with the Yathrib Jews, and the Tahrim of Yathrib: Analysis and translation of the documents comprised in the so-called "Constitution of Medina", écrit en 1978, est considéré par les historiens comme une publication scientifique de référenceVoir, par exemple, l'historien Mohamed El Aziz Ben Achour, in Les Arabes : Du message à l’histoire, sous la direction de Dominique Chevallier et André Miquel, éditions Fayard (1995), p.49. . Il a été sélectionné et rééditéChapitre n°8 du livre The Life of Muhammad, in The Formation of the Classical Islamic World: Vol. 4, édité par Uri Rubin, 410 pages, éd. Aldershot, 1998.
