Jean-Paul Dréau, né le à Oran (Algérie française) et mort le à Saint-Hilaire-Taurieux (Corrèze), est un auteur-compositeur-interprète et producteur français.

Biographie Jean-Paul Dréau commence la guitare au collège de Viroflay dans les Yvelines, une de ses idoles de l'époque est Michel Polnareff pour lequel il composera plus tard.

Il est entre autres le compositeur des chansons à succès Le Coup de soleil (interprétée par Richard Cocciante), Tout doucement (interprétée par Bibie), C'est pas facile... (interprétée par Carol Arnauld), J’veux d’la tendresse (interprétée par Janic Prévost, Elton John et Marie Carmen), On a tous besoin d'amour (interprétée par Johnny Hallyday et Clémence), et a cosigné les textes de l’album Bulles de Michel Polnareff.

Il est l'auteur-compositeur du titre Sentiments Songes interprété par Fanny Biascamano. Elle a représenté la France au Concours Eurovision de la chanson 1997 où elle s'est classé septième sur les 25 pays participants.

Il a écrit plusieurs chansons pour Chimène Badi, qui a interprété Je ne sais pas son nom, Le mot fin, Toutes les mêmes ou encore Un jour de trop qui passe.

Il meurt à l'âge de 73 ans le à Saint-Hilaire-Taurieux, des suites d'une embolie pulmonaire. Ses obsèques se déroulent le au crématorium de Tulle.
