A sörtéscickányok (Chimarrogale) az emlősök (Mammalia) osztályának Eulipotyphla rendjébe, ezen belül a cickányfélék (Soricidae) családjába és a vörösfogú cickányok (Soricinae) alcsaládjába tartozó nem.
Előfordulásuk A sörtéscickányok előfordulási területe Délkelet-Ázsia, Szumátra, Borneó és Japán nagyobb szigetei, Hokkaidót kivéve.
