Il suo personaggio più famoso è il barone von Kaz, un eccentrico e arguto viennese (Il dardo piumato, uno dei romanzi della serie, è edito da Polillo Editore).
La moglie, Hildegarde Tolman, appare come coautrice in alcuni dei suoi romanzi.
