Опис Varanus kordensis переважно жовто-зелений, хоча в неволі екземпляри часто втрачають свій жовтий пігмент і стають бірюзовими. Він має чорний сітчастий візерунок, який видно на спині. Досягає загальної довжини до 90 см.
