Souvrství Sao Khua je geologická formace, jejíž sedimenty se rozkládají na území severovýchodního Thajska. Nad vrstvami této formace se nacházejí sedimenty souvrství Phu Phan. Tato geologická formace naopak nasedá nekonformně na starší horniny souvrství Phra Wihan. Formálně bylo toto souvrství stanoveno v roce 1964. Charakteristika Nejběžnějšími typy hornin tohoto souvrství jsou pískovce, slepence, prachovce a jílovce. Největší mocnost místních hornin činí až 120 metrů. Stáří těchto vrstev je raně křídové, konkrétně pocházejí z období geologických věků valangin až hauteriv (asi před 133,6 až 132,1 milionu let). V té době se jednalo o velkou záplavovou nížinu s množstvím řek.Tucker, R. T.; et al. (2022).
