Nato a Brooklyn nel 1894, lavorò per il cinema. Nella sua carriera, iniziata nel 1909 alla Vitagraph Company of America, scrisse almeno sessantasei tra soggetti e sceneggiature. Fu anche regista, firmando sette film.
