Гістарычна П'юджэт-Саўнд быў месцам пражывання індзейскіх плямёнаў суквамішы і дуваміші, па імі правадыра якіх, Сіэтла, атрымаў назву горад Сіэтл. У 1855–1856 гг. адбылася «вайна ў П'юджэт-Саўнд», калі некалькі індзейскіх плямёнаў нападалі на Сіэтл, аднак былі лёгка адбіты гараджанамі і панеслі істотныя страты.
